Tramezzino Itì was founded in October 2000 by Giorgio Castriota as a click and mortar activity. Tramezzino Itì is active in the “fast catering business”, i.e., light catering services booked with a very short notice.

In 2007 a small group of business angels bought a majority stake in the company, betting on its high growth potential to turn the boutique into a market leader.

As of today, Tramezzino is established in Milan, Turin, Monza, Rome, and Verona, and a London operation will be opening shortly. Still, Tramezzino’s sandwiches are hand made every day in the same way in all our locations.

But the real potential of the company is in the international markets. A pilot opening is planned in Shanghai at the beginning of 2010, and Tramezzino is looking at London to start with a mixed business model, partly based on few strategically-placed retail shops to accelerate the growth of the delivery business.
